Many members of our community are overwhelmed with the job search process, don't have reliable transportation, feel limited by their disabilities or otherwise lack the training or support they need to thrive. These are just a few obstacles that can hold us back. But perhaps one of the biggest obstacles is motivation.  Motivation can be lacking when you feel isolated and alone.  It's time to change your perspective.  Join us for #4weekchallenge on social media to learn a simple framework for landing that next role.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the Make It There Project?

Make It There is a peer-driven social media channel that provides multimedia employment support content—training videos, tips, information, and resources for individuals with disabilities. More than 75% of people with disabilities never successfully transition into the workforce after high school. This is a staggering statistic that we must change. We're here to help close this gap, -especially as funding cuts threaten services—and to offer accessible, peer-driven resources that increase employment readiness and awareness.

2. Who is the channel for?

Individuals with disabilities seeking employment readiness info but who aren’t eligible for or reached by existing local vocational programs, plus their family members and community supporters. However, anyone can benefit from the information and ALL are welcome!

3. What Types of Content Can We Expect

Short training videos, how‑to guides, interview tips, resume/social media advice, employer spotlights, peer stories, resource lists, and podcasts.

4. Who Creates the Content?

A mix of peers with disabilities, employment support professionals, would be employers  and other stakeholders contributing lived experience, practical guidance, and resources.

5. How Often Will the Content Be Posted

Regularly (planned weekly posts and periodic multimedia series); schedule and updates will be announced on the channel and via the project mailing list.

6. What Is #4Week Challenge? How Can I Participate?

#4WeekChallenge is a free, 4‑week peer‑driven campaign (called Chase Your Next) that guides jobseekers with disabilities through a four‑step process—Discover (identify strengths and fit), Prepare (build accessible resumes/profiles and tools), Pursue (apply, interview, and take assessments), and Analyze (review feedback, decide on offers, and regroup)—using weekly videos, short clips, podcasts, tips, and micro‑challenges. Content is accessible (captions, transcripts, alt text), features lived experience and expert input, and aims to boost readiness and connections. Join us on social media for the fun. Hashtags: #4WeekChallenge #ChaseYourNext #WorkReady4All. Subscribe to our email list to keep up with what's happening.
